Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Ekin Uzunyayla, an individual developer based in Türkiye (“we”, “us”), for your use of the Memory: Remember Names & Faces app (“Memory”, “the app”). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

If you got the app from the Apple App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement also applies. If the two conflict, the Apple agreement wins as far as it concerns Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or for support.

1. Your license

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app or its content, except where the law allows it.

2. What Memory is, and isn’t

Memory teaches memory techniques for everyday life. It is an educational app, not a medical product. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition and is not a substitute for professional advice. If you are worried about your memory, please talk to a doctor.

Results depend on practice. We don’t promise that you will remember any particular name, number or item.

3. No account; your data lives on your device

Memory has no sign-up. The app creates an anonymous account in the background so purchases and data deletion work. Your progress, gems, hearts and the people you save are stored on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy. This means:

• If you delete the app or change devices without a device backup, your progress is lost and we cannot restore it.
• You are responsible for the security of your device.

4. Memory Pro subscriptions and purchases

Some features are available through a paid subscription or a one-time purchase (“Memory Pro”). Prices, the billing period and any free-trial length are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
• Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
• Free trials: if an offer includes a free trial, you are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. The app reminds you before your trial ends. On the App Store, any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
• Cancelling: manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app, or using Delete my data, does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We cannot issue refunds ourselves.
• Restoring: use “Restore purchases” in the app with the same store account.
• One platform: a purchase is tied to the store you bought it in. Pro bought on iPhone does not carry over to Android, or the other way round.
• Price changes follow the store’s rules, which include telling you in advance.

5. Gems and hearts

Gems and hearts are virtual items used only inside the app. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred or sold.

• Gems you buy are stored on your device. They do not come back if you delete and reinstall the app, or if you use Delete my data. The app says this before you buy.
• Hearts are used only in lesson and practice tests. Reviews never cost hearts and are never behind a paywall.
• We may change how virtual items work, but we will not take away items you paid for while you still have them on your device.

6. Rewarded ads

You can choose to watch a short video ad to earn a heart. Ads are provided by third parties (Google AdMob), are limited to a few per day, and may not always be available. We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads. Pro users do not see ads.

7. Acceptable use

Please don’t misuse the app. For example, don’t try to break, overload or reverse-engineer it or our servers, cheat or tamper with purchases, or use it to break the law. People I Met is for your own memory: only save information you are allowed to keep, and respect other people’s privacy.

8. Our content

The app, its lessons, illustrations, the fox mascot, sounds and the Memory name and icon belong to us or our licensors. Some components are open source and are used under their own licenses. What you type into the app is yours.

9. Changes to the app

We keep improving Memory and may add, change or remove features. We may stop offering the app. If we stop, we will give reasonable notice in the app where we can, and your store’s refund rules apply to active subscriptions.

10. Disclaimer

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those stated in these terms, including that the app will be error-free or always available. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.

11. Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data stored on your device. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. This does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Disputes go to the competent courts and consumer arbitration boards of Türkiye. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring a claim in your local courts.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app. If you keep using the app after a change, the new terms apply.
